Overview
A SNO Virtual Conference will take place December 6-7, focusing on intraoperative visualization of brain tumors and the connectome. Better visualization of brain tumors in addition to an understanding of connectomics and white matter pathways can permit maximal, safe resection of brain tumors. Maximal safe resection of brain tumors can lead to better patient outcomes. This Conference will include experts from both the North America and Europe providing the current state of intraoperative visualization of brain tumors by fluorescence-guided surgery (FGS) for adult and pediatric brain tumors and new technologies which permit better tumor visualization in the OR. The Conference will also focus on connectomics and white matter pathways -- keys to neurosurgical planning, glioma invasion, neuroplasticity, and functional outcomes. Luminaries in the field will cover topics such as oncofunctional optimization, current brain mapping techniques, review of key functional pathways such as the frontal aslant tract that underlie syndromes such as SMA, and potential for recovery using techniques such as TMS.

  • Learn the key neural networks that determine neurological function as affected by brain tumors 
  • Review the modern techniques of brain mapping, and understand how AI and precision medicine converge in the management of gliomas
