ISPNO/SNO Pediatric Low-Grade Glioma Research Fellowship

The International Symposium on Pediatric Neuro-Oncology (ISPNO) and the Society for Neuro-Oncology (SNO) are pleased to announce the establishment of a new annual Pediatric Low-Grade Glioma Research Fellowship! This fellowship aims to support postdoctoral, clinical, fellow, or junior faculty members in conducting research focused on pediatric low-grade glioma (pLGG) outcomes.

  • Purpose

    The fellowship seeks to encourage and facilitate the development of successful career paths in the field of Pediatric Neuro-Oncology by supporting innovative research projects directly applicable to pLGG. This fellowship will also consider proposals investigating the long-term effects of targeted therapies in pediatric brain tumors.

  • Funding

    Thanks to the generous support of Day One Biopharmaceuticals, the fellowship will provide one grant of $75,000 in each calendar year, inclusive of indirect costs. The funding is specifically designated for the Pediatric Low-Grade Glioma Research Fellowship.

  • Application Process

    Interested candidates are invited to submit their research proposals according to the guidelines outlined in the grant application form. Proposals should address the significance of the research, proposed methodologies, expected outcomes, and relevance to pLGG.

  • Deadline

    The deadline for submitting applications is Tuesday, October 1, 2024. Late submissions will not be considered.

  • Administration

    The Society for Neuro-Oncology (SNO) will administer the fellowship. SNO will oversee the submission and review process and distribute funds to the selected awardee.

  • Award Process

    An impartial joint awards committee, comprising representatives from ISPNO and SNO leadership, will evaluate fellowship applications based on the merit of the proposed research and select the award recipient(s) after a rigorous review process.

The International Symposium of Pediatric Neuro-Oncology (ISPNO) is a global conference dedicated to advancing the field of pediatric neuro-oncology. Held biennially, ISPNO brings together leading researchers, clinicians, and healthcare professionals from around the world to discuss the latest developments in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of brain and spinal cord tumors in children. (ISPNO 2024) will be held in Philadelphia, PA, from June 29 – July 2, 2024.
