Joint Statement on the Situation in the Middle East
In the midst of continuing horror in the Middle East, we wish to express our deep concern for the well-being of brain tumor patients, their families and the healthcare professionals who are treating them and people with other cancers, diseases and injuries during the ongoing conflict in Israel and Gaza. We stand with our neuro-oncology and other medical colleagues in the region who are working tirelessly to provide care during this crisis. Brain tumor patients already face overwhelming life-threatening challenges which will almost certainly be exacerbated by the conflict, and we therefore hope for a swift resolution to this profoundly distressing situation in Israel and Gaza. We call on all to restore peace, choose brotherhood over division and life over death.
